About the Mission

The Mission Ndhiwa is a Medical and Evangelistic Campaign focused on bringing holistic transformation to the community of Kwoyo, Ndhiwa, Homabay, Kenya.

From August 12-22, 2026, volunteers will serve the community through medical services, spiritual programs, and practical workshops that equip and empower.

Our Goals for the mission are to:

Saturdays (15th and 22nd)

9am - 10:30am Morning Sabbath School program
11am - 12:30pm Main Service
12:30pm - 2:00pm Lunch break
2:00pm - 5:00pm Afternoon program

Who Can Join?

Everyone is invited to join. If you're passionate about serving a community firsthand in the heart of rural Kenya, then there'll be something for you to do. We are looking for:

Medical professionals and medical support individuals, e.g., physicians, nurses, NPs etc.
Children's teachers and ministers
Counsellors and lifestyle coaches (e.g., on financials, agriculture, cooking, vocational skills)
Spiritual mentors, preachers, and prayer warriors

This is a medical and evangelistic campaign in Kwoyo, Ndhiwa, Homabay, Kenya. The mission will run from 12th to 22nd August 2026.

Three things:

(i) Meet the physical needs of the community through free medical services

(ii) Meet the spiritual needs of the community through enriching spiritual programs

(iii) Launch longer-term community services in the area that will be provided by a community centre

The ten-day program is as follows:

Weekdays: The team will spend the full day on activities that directly serve the community. This includes:

  • Medical camp from 9am to 3pm
  • Lifestyle sessions on different topics until 5pm
  • Spiritual program from 5pm to 8pm
  • Door-to-door visitations and counselling services between 9am and 4pm (concurrent)

Saturdays (15th and 22nd): The full day will be spent on spiritual programs to celebrate the Sabbath.

Sundays (16th and 23rd - optional): The volunteer and mission team will take a break and immerse itself in the community through recreational excursions, e.g., national park visits, Lake Victoria rides, heritage visits and museum visits, etc.

We are looking to fill roles that will provide holistic community support, both for physical and spiritual needs.

These roles include:

  1. Medical practitioners, e.g., physicians, nurses, NPs, etc.
  2. Educators/Coaches across different topics, both for children and adults, e.g., a vocational topic, or adult literacy, or children’s programs, etc.
  3. Prayer warriors and preachers
  4. Support staff volunteers, e.g., helping to guide attendees, supporting medical camp registrations, etc.

Yes! Please consider:

  1. Joining our monthly prayer sessions for the mission and the on-the-ground projects
  2. Donating to the mission kitty to help us with the planning and to cover collective mission costs, e.g., securing the mission site, defraying shipping costs for in-kind donations, purchasing material to be used in children’s classes, etc.
  3. Donating in-kind. This can range from hospital supplies, medicine, books and literature, to clothes, etc.
  4. Joining the planning team to give of your time to ensure a successful mission

The costs will vary based on several things: your location of departure into Kenya, and your preference of accommodation while in Kenya etc. However, we have put together a rough estimate:

Transport:

  • Flights to Nairobi will vary. The best date to arrive is by 11th August.
  • From Nairobi, there’s a 45-minute flight to Homabay (Kabunde Airport). You’ll take the flight on Wednesday, 12th August in the afternoon (flights to Homabay are available thrice a week on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday).
  • The cost of this flight ranges from USD 70 to USD 100, depending on the time of booking.
  • Ground transport from the airport to the mission site is ~USD 20.

Accommodation: We have several options including:

  • Ruma River Lodge (USD 75/night)
  • Viewpoint Cottages (KES 3,000-5,000/night, ~USD 23-39/night)
  • Five Talents Orphanage
  • Dominion School Dormitories

Meals: We will organize all meals through a caterer. The estimated cost per day is USD 20 per person for three meals.
